Professional Experience
Dr. Francesca Vella is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist with over ten years of experience across inpatient and community psychiatric services in the UK and internationally. She has held senior clinical roles within acute mental health units, most recently serving as Consultant and Responsible Clinician at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, where she managed complex, treatment-resistant presentations.
Dr. Vella’s areas of clinical expertise include neurodevelopmental conditions – particularly adult ADHD – neuropsychiatric presentations such as OCD, and treatment-resistant mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Vella also holds specialist interest in neuromodulation, with advanced experience in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). She has led a randomised controlled trial in TMS for refractory OCD and has published extensively in peer-reviewed psychiatric literature.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Vella is part of a nationally recognised neurodevelopmental service in the UK. She is known for her precise, compassionate approach and her commitment to delivering evidence-based care that is both culturally responsive and clinically robust.
