Dr Shamir Patel is a Consultant Psychiatrist and member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, with over 20 years of medical experience. He qualified in medicine and surgery from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2003 (MBBS) and is fully registered with the General Medical Council. He holds Section 12 approval and is recognised by the Secretary of State for the purposes of the Mental Health Act.
Dr Patel has held senior leadership roles within the NHS, including Clinical and Medical Director positions, and has extensive experience in the assessment and management of complex mental health presentations.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Patel serves as an expert witness for the Crown Prosecution Service, providing specialist psychiatric input in a range of serious and high-profile legal cases. His work is underpinned by a strong commitment to ethical standards, discretion, and evidence-based care.
Outside of psychiatry, Dr Patel maintains a longstanding interest in property and international travel. He is an avid golfer and longstanding member of Royal St George’s Golf Club.
