Healthcare Leadership & Experience

Dr Rogers regularly teaches and gives talks on mental health in sport. He has been involved with the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Sport and Exercise Special Interest Group since it was set up, and has contributed to its work on where medicine and sport psychology meet.

He has also worked as an expert witness, including on cases both in and outside professional sport.

Approach to Care

Because he works across psychiatry and sport psychology, Dr Rogers looks at a person’s mental health alongside the pressures of the environment they perform in. That approach applies beyond sport, too, to anyone whose work involves sustained pressure to perform.

His experience working with elite athletes across different sports informs his understanding of the demands that can accompany competition, performance and professional sporting careers.
