Kayleigh Mendoza

I have been working in mental health care for around 15 years, in various settings both inpatient and community. This has been in both crisis services and longer term care coordination roles. Which has required me to work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a collaborative approach to our service user’s care.

Most recently my role has been within a service transformation, developing the primary care mental health role. This has enabled to support other professionals to deliver a high standard of care, opening up conversations to lessen the stigma that is still experienced by many living with Mental health illnesses. Improving relationships with other professionals and services has been challenging at time however I have enjoyed the knowledge I have also gained from other perspectives also.

I consider myself to be a very passionate nurse, I have developed organizational and management skills throughout my career. I pride myself on accurate and up to date record keeping and my ability to build a rapport with the individual I am supporting at the time. Ultimately I want to continue to support individuals living with a mental health need and empower them to develop the skills to support themselves.
