I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine) from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, graduating in 2002. I practise Traditional Chinese Medicine in accordance with UK professional standards, supporting patients with a wide range of health conditions.
My clinical work focuses particularly on pain relief and musculoskeletal conditions, using acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to reduce pain, improve function, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Alongside symptom management, I am interested in how posture, breathing, movement, and stress patterns contribute to chronic pain and physical dysfunction over time.
In addition to Traditional Chinese Medicine, I qualified as an Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2008 and completed Clinical and STOTT Pilates training in 2012. These disciplines inform an integrated rehabilitation approach that combines movement, alignment, strength, mobility, and body awareness to support long-term physical resilience and functional recovery.
I have also maintained a continuous Theravada Insight Meditation practice in the Mahasi tradition since my early professional training. This has shaped my understanding of attention, stress, and the relationship between mental and physical experience. Where appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness-based approaches to help patients develop greater awareness of tension, reactivity, breathing patterns, and the effects of stress on the body.
I am particularly interested in how attention, movement, breathing, and bodily awareness influence pain, stress regulation, and recovery.
My approach is holistic, patient-centred, and grounded in the view that wellbeing is not only conceptual or symptom-based, but also embodied. I aim to help patients reduce pain, restore functional movement, improve awareness of how stress and behaviour affect physical health, and develop sustainable strategies for long-term balance and wellbeing.
