Alex Fontaine, MBE

Recovery Manager
Professional Experience

Alex Fontaine brings over two decades of experience supporting discerning individuals and their families through complex journeys of mental health and addiction recovery. As a former Private PA and Family Lifestyle Manager, Alex has worked closely with clients facing psychiatric diagnoses, addiction, dual diagnosis, PTSD, anxiety, and Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing discreet, compassionate, and deeply informed support throughout.

Known for her warmth, humour, and unshakeable belief in the power of recovery, Alex helps clients and families navigate treatment and long-term wellbeing with grace and clarity. Her ability to connect on a personal level – grounded in lived experience – makes her an invaluable ally to those she supports.

In 1999, Alex began her own recovery journey, which became the foundation of her professional passion and personal mission. She later founded The Yellow Heart Trust, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by PTSD, addiction, and co-occurring conditions.

In recognition of her charitable work, Alex was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2007 and became a Freeman of the City of London in 2024.

A spirited advocate for joyful living, Alex reminds those in recovery that “the key is to create a happy and fulfilling life.” Outside of work, she enjoys adventure travel, tennis, padel, and the occasional powerboat ride along the Thames.
